Effective way of dosing dry ferts?

what would be a more effective way of dosing dry ferts, dosing it dry? diluting it in water first then dump in tank, or dilute it and then inject it directly into the filter's input tube? Im using a canister filter btw

That is mostly personal preference. Many folks dose dry, many make up solutions. As long as you're getting it in the water you're fine.

If your water movement is adequate for the tank you'll have no issues with the fertilizers dispersing regardless of method.

The circulation of the water in the tank will disperse the ferts.

A good way to dose ferts would be to put the ammount in front of the out flow, from there the ferts are shot throughout the tank.
