Osmocote Plus Back on the Market

Just ordered some O+ from Amazon. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and if it is the same formula as the old Osmocote Plus.

I bought mine at my local Ace hardware 2lbs for I think $11 or so.. I then bought some 100 size 00 capsuls at my local vitamin shoppe for $4 so I'm set for a while

Edit: Forgot to mention I bought it yesterday and the guy said it was a new item for them. They just got it in.

Well they don't list Ca but it does contain calcium phosphate, which I assume means that it does provide calcium. Could be wrong though.

My bottle does not contain calcium phosphate. It's the Outdoor & Indoor one with the "No-Burn Pledge". Which one is yours?

Same labeling and name as yours but mine came in a bag. On the bag, it lists Calcium Phosphate but no specific Calcium content under analysis. Kind of weird because you'd think they'd put it on there. Pretty sure Calcium Phosphate should be providing calcium as well as phosphorus.

I remember before it was discontinued, it came in a bottle, but I don't remember if it listed calcium phosphate.

Some sellers still sell the discontinued formula with calcium. I bought the 2lb bottle and it didn't have calcium. Was yours the 8lb bag for $20?

Yeah Osmocote Plus has been back for a while now, Scott's sold the Osmocote Plus brand to a company in Israel who brought the newly named "outdoor & indoor" to the U.S. market. As stated, the new Osmocote Plus Ouutdoor & Indoor does not contain calcium, and they used P2O5 as the source for phosphates.

Same quality and chemicals for the most part? Or did they mess it up and rely on the name..

Yeah every thing is essentially the same; Same materials, fertilizer compounds, and same ingredients in the time release gel-coat; It's just another company now owns the rights to the Osmocote Plus brand is all...

My thoughts are Scott's made a bad move when they decided to go with 50lb bags, and ditch the smaller quantity package's... Was a really bad move, but thankfully the company who bought the Osmocote Plus brand name was smart enough to realize the mistake Scott's made and started selling the smaller packaging quantities again.

Wait, why does it say Calcium Phosphate then, if there's no calcium? Seems like some people are saying its exactly the same but others are saying there's no calcium

You might have bought the discontinued supply, which Amazon actually sells. I just checked and the discontinued 1.25lb is being sold alongside the new O+ without Ca.

What you picked up is an old Osmocote Plus made by the original Scott's company, Scott's would use calcium phosphate as a source for phosphates. This is why you are seeing it, the new Osmocote Plus made by the new company has 0 calcium in it.
