Chemical Media That Will Not Remove Tannins?

Is it possible to use a chemical media that will remove dissolved wastes except tannins? If I understand correctly, tannins are a form of dissolved organics, so I don't know if there is a resin that can be selective as to what organics it removes?

the only one that I can think of is phosphate removal media. yes tannins are dissolved organics so most types of media for removing waste organics will remove tannins too.

Prep new water with a bag (nylon stocking) of peat moss.
Then do a water change, emphasizing vacuuming the floor of the tank (as close as you can get with a vacuum), and clean the filter.
With less coarse (partially decomposed) organic matter there will be less dissolved organics.
