180 gallon build

I am currently setting up a 180 gallon planted tank with Discus. I am going to use Black Diamond blasting sand as the substrate. With Medium lights, and the planned plants Nymphaea lotus, Java Fern, Java Moss, Swords, Anubias. I plan on using the DIY osmocote plus root tabs. My question is do i need more ferts than this? If so what.

Yes you should also follow a dosing regime for fertilizers as well, like EI, PPS Pro, etc...

Root tabs are only beneficial for root feeding plants, but most aquarium plants feed off the water column. It's always best to use ferts like Osmocote+, and still utilize a water column dosing regime. Whether you use dry fertilizers, or a mixed solution regime I recommend both root tabs, and ferts for the water column.
