Did flourish kill my fish?

lost all 5 fish yesterday and still not completely sure why but I have an idea. Water parameters immediately after incident as follows :

Temp- 77f

Ph- 7.6

Ammonia-0 - 0

Nitrite -0 - 0

Nitrate- 1.0 - 2.0

I just started using the excel last week and I dosed flourish excel for the second time in a week yesterday morning with the top off .4ml and I am starting to think that was the problem as they started showing signs of distress immediately after that. I did a 2g water change immediately but the damage was done and all 5 rasboras eventually passed from the "incident". I plan to do a 50% change again today and toss in some active carbon in the filter for a few days to dissipate any residual in the tank. I think I'll stick to root tabs and just dose the excel once a week in a .2ml volume with the water change.

Let me know what you guys/girls think about my plan , or if it is needed at all, and if you think that was my cause...

What is your tank volume compared to the dosage?

Sorry it's a fluval spec V with stock lighting and filter (active carbon removed for bio balls) , 50w heater, mild to moderately planted

I have 6 gallons and dose roughly .5ml a day. No issues but I only have 1 fish (platy) currently.
