Help to calc dry fertilizers...

Hi all,

I have two dry fertilizers and I´d like to understand how to calc the correct amount.

Yara Krista K:
12% Nitrogênio Total (N)
45% Potássio (K2O)
1,2% Enxofre (S)

Yara Calcinit
15,5% Nitrogênio Total (N)
19% Cálcio (Ca) hidrossolúvel

I was trying to use the following link to calc, but all online calculatores give me others values:
http://www.aquariumslife.com/aquasca...er-calculatio/

I´d like to reach a 1ppm/1ml of N in 65 liters, in both fertilizers.

thanks a lot.

To clarify:
1. You want 65 liters of 1ppm active N solution for fertilizer type A and 65 liters of 1ppm active N solution for fertilizer type B ?

OR

2. You want fertilizer A & fertilizer B mixed together in the same solution totaling 65 liters and yielding 1ppm total active N ?

OR

3. You want fertilizer A & fertilizer B mixed together in the same solution so that if you add 1mL of the solution to a 65 liter tank it'll yield 1ppm of active N ?

Makes a huge difference of course depending on what you're after.

Hello, thanks for reply.

I´d like to mix in 450ml water, dosing 1ml to reach 1ppm(N) in my 65liters aquarium. Two solutions bottles, one for each fertilizer.

Thanks in advanced for help.

Yara Krista K = KNO3 (potassium nitrate)
Yara Calcinit = 5Ca(NO3)2.NH4NO3.10H2O (calcium nitrate)

You can use this calculator.

I'm not sure why you want to calculate for 1ppm of nitrogen but below are the amounts to do it.

For the Yara Krista K,
Add 47.693 G (roughly 10 teaspoons) to 450ml of water, dose 1ml to raise NO3 1ppm in 65L.

For the Yara Calcinit you will need to use 2ml doses. The dry fertilizer will not dissolve using a 1ml dose. Add 93.851G (roughly 10 teaspoons) to 450ml of water, dose 2ml to raise nitrogen (NH4 and NO3) 1ppm in 65L

Thanks for reply Zorfox.

But the calculator is using KNO3, with 13,85% of N. And the Krista K is 12% of N. Can I use the same calc KNO3 and get right results ?

thanks.

Yes, you can use the KNO3 on the calculator.

With 13.75% nitrogen and 46% K2O. One gram in one gallon of water yeilds 36 ppm nitrogen and 101 ppm potassium.
