It's the same product, but in different packaging. This size is somewhat new.

Question is..... do you really NEED 8lbs of it?

Said nutrients should be listed in their respective quantities on the back of the container. Take a pic and let's review. Also if I were you I'd consider buying it up and selling it off...that stuff is golden.

How much are they selling them for ? I may ask for you to buy me one and ship it to me and I'll hit you up on paypal to pay you back ?

Nevermind....I just found it back on Amazon...finally !

I'll try to research and see what they pulled out.

yeah found couple places online as well. that's why I was wondering if it was same.
mrbluepanda said this one only has 11 nutrients compare to 12 in the old ones. not sure how big of a difference it makes.

Here's some info on the nutrient level but cannot tell if this is the old or new product. I emailed Scotts asking the difference so hopefully they will respond.

Someone posted this link a few months ago and I found it useful. Its a database of fertilizers. I didnt realize there were so many Osmocotes out there. :-)

Anyway, I bought a jar of Lilly Miller Multicote Outdoor/Indoor plant food 18-6-12 from Lowes that has micro nutrients in it. So far no problems, though it seems to be missing a few nutrients that Osmocote has. You can look it up in the database.

Scotts sold the Osmocote brand to ICL Group an Israeli Chemicals company in 2011 but scotts reached an agreement with the company to market the products in the USA and it is replacing the Sierra brand line to the Osmocote line now . They are no longer not selling it yes it has one less minor in it but Ma is not one of them that is missing. It is available as of this spring again Walmart and the Kroger franchise has it going on shelves now. Its not a rare item any longer the citrus farmers use it way to much for them to get rid of it completely anyway. I can get a freshly stocked batch at Kroger owned Fred Meyer and Walmart in my town. They are selling it again online at ace as well and AM Leonard has switched its Scotts Sierra Line to Osmocote as well. Its around $10.00 for 2 lbs depending on the store.

I just picked up a 8lb bag of it, and compared it to the a 4.5 container of the original Osmocote Plus. The only difference is the new stuff doesn't contain calcium, and is 2.0% higher in sulfur...

I would of got a 2lb container of the new osmocote plus but it was $9 so 2 of them would of been $18 and the 8lb bag was only $25 so I went with what makes more sense which is 8lb $25 or 4x2lb $36.
