dumb basic question about KNO3

hi all

i am getting close to the end of my last bottle of Seachem Nitrogen. i want to avoid shelling out more dinero for that expensive stuff. i understand there is a much cheaper way to dose N with some kind of dry fert. i have searched posts a little bit, but there are so many results for "KNO3" that i can't find answers to this basic question.

also, what is that homemade "two-part" dosing system that everybody talks about?

thanks for considering this.

Cheaper ferts

The best will be to find some Hydroponic store around you. They carry all the nutrients.

Email Rex, go to http://bestaquariumregulator.com/ferts.html

I am not sure what the two part dosing system you are talking about is. If you're talking about EI, then the basic idea is you dose enough of everything so your plants won't have any deficiencies, and then do a large water change at the end of the week to make sure you don't have excess anything.

Here is the page probably closest to the original source: http://www.barrreport.com/estimative-index/

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 2 part dosing system you are talking about is Macros, and Micros. But Macros still consist of N, P, and K.

Rex sells all the dry ferts you need, and has an explanation of what each chemical doses.

If you aren't dosing anything else, you'll need the pack.
