Prime versus Aqua?

I was just at my local fish store and asked if they carry Prime. She told me no because after they did a test on the local water, that it had high ammonia. She said that Prime didn't work as good as Aqua something or the other at removing the ammonia. Now I have been using Prime without any trouble. Has anybody heard of this? I'd rather use Prime for conditioning my water.

Thanks

Joe

LPS will make up any BS they can
to avoid carrying Seachem products
which are not as profitable for them.
Prime is more concentrated than
Amquel, thus it's a better value.

When you use Prime, you should use a Salicylate ammonia test kit for ammonia or you will get false positive results.

You can't use the Nessler based ammonia test kit with Prime or Amquel. This ammonia test kit gives false positives for the presence of ammonia.

Thanks guys, I new Prime was the answer. I have been using it for quit a while now without any trouble. I believe it says to use 1 mil per 10 gallons of water. For my 29 gallon I add 4 mil at every 50% water change just to be safe. I use one of those baby medicine vile looking things for measuring caught medicine. Works real good and handy too.
