Starting EI Dosing Tomorrow

Tomorrow I am starting the dosing schedule. Got the CO2 dialed in and lighting is high and nice. (Ray 2) over a 60 gallon 24" anyway, I am going to start with a half dose of the macros. The next day a full dose of the plantex. And do this three times each till next Sunday.

Any objections to starting with a half dose of macros? (Mainly because I just tested my nitrate test kit and it's bad) so until i can get another test kit I do not want to OD the plants or tank with nutrients. Opinions and thoughts are very welcomed.

Thanks!

Like the biggest advocate of EI on the net there is Tom Barr will tell you, EI does not need to be religiously followed. In fact, if you are new to dosing, my advice is to feel things out yourself for a while. Part of the reason that EI is so popular is that it does not require constant use of test kits. So my advise is to actually use test kits, in particular, phosphates and nitrate as you are first experimenting. Once you have more experience and intuition as far as dosing using EI closer to the actual method makes sense.
