Distilled versus RO water in drop checker

I'm referencing Hoppy's excellent post from years back

to build a drop checker using .75 dKh solution to measure DIY CO2.. it says too dilute with distilled water. Would RO water work the same or must it be distilled? Just trying to save myself a trip to the store.

I think the goal is to just get water with nothing in it, so that you can accurately dose the correct amount of carbonates.

I think RO should be fine, as long as the filter/membrane is up on maintenance and such.

A lot of times I hear RO, DI, and distilled used interchangeably. pretty much just different methods for removing impurities in water.
