cycling test results/ what should ido next?

hey guys im doing a fish less cycle on my 20 gal and my ammonia seems to be down to 0 ppm but my nitrites are off the charts like a real dark/bright purple. doesn't even match any of the colors on api master test kit.

am i on the right track or what should ido next?

keep dosing ammonia. your cycle is not complete until both ammonia and nitrites hit 0 after 24 hours. I might do a water 50% water change if nitrites are that high

Yeah nitrites takes forever, I'm on my fourth week of cycling because of nitrite. I wouldn't do water change.

I just did a water change lol but I will see how things go. I added some more ammonia and im hoping my tank should be cycled by this week. I used some of my book media from my lil nano tank also

Water change just delay cycling but it does benefits the plants.

Once nitrites appear,,it is wise to cut ammonia by 1/2 dose.
Continuing with full ammonia dose will often stall the cycle in nitritre step.
Is why some report nitrite stage taking forever.
