diy co2 newbie question

ok I just got my diy co2 up and running. It is putting out a bubble every 1 sec, is that to much? I think I read somewhere that it was suppose to be a bubble every 3-4 sec. My other question is what frets do I need to dose the tank with now that I have co2 running? Sorry if these questions were already asked but I tried to do a search and I am not getting anything. Thanks again.

How large is your aquarium? For larger aquariums, one bubble every second may not be sufficient.

With regards to fertilization, plants require nitrates and phosphates as macronutrients, and various micronutrients. There are a number of commercially available products, but they can be quite expensive, particularly in the long run. I would recommend that you look into dry chemicals as a cheaper alternative.

More information can be found in my Guide to Planted Aquariums (linked in my signature below).

For a 26 gallon aquarium, 1 bubble per second is completely safe.
