I have been using the Hagen test kits, but want to take it up a notch in accuracy as I prepare to start my tanks on pressurised CO2 and fertilization (via Greg Watson).

I am planning to go with NO3, PO4, pH, KH, and Iron. I also noticed that Seachem has a CO2 kit, so that could be an alternative to the pH, KH route for CO2 concs.

Who prefers what as far as brand, and why? I know a lot of people like the Redsea, but I have been impressed with Seachem Flourish line. Does the CO2 kit work as reliably as the pH, KH method of testing?

Thanks.

got CO2?

Don't waste your money on a iron test kit. As for the CO2 I have never used one. I just printed out the CO2/pH/kH chart and have it in my cabinet so I can look at it if I need to.

Seachem Iron kit worked for me, though I rarely find the need to use it.

Thanks guys. I was going to use the iron test kit at first to get my micros right...I guess I could look at the plants to determine deficiencies as well.

Is Red Sea the way to go? Does the C02 test kit work, or is more reliable to use pH, KH to determine CO2?

got CO2?
