I'm currently using it to cycle my 10-gallon. It's in a little plastic can and is in powder form. It's supposedly full of nitrifying bacteria. Does anyone know how effective it is?

I tested my water today (tank is 5 days old now) and my ammonia and nitrites are high, but not nearly as high as I thought they would be.

My PH is only about 6.4, though. Don't know why, either. I tested my tap water and it's in the high 7's. I guess I need to do some water changes and see what happens.

P.S.: I use a Red Sea test kit. Is this one pretty good?

Get Bio-Spira from Marineland, it works. If you have plants, why cycle?

I use biozyme, but thats only because MarinelandLabs do not have an international distributor for my area yet.

Never lost a fish to new tank shock yet.
