Question Iron & Flourish Phosphorus

Can you overdose iron and what are the symptoms or side effects?

Using the Aquatic Plant Central Ferti-Lator, if I dose the suggested amount of Flourish Phosphorus to get my phosphates between 1-2 ppm, this pushes my iron levels to 0.69 ppm, way over the suggested 0.1 level. Am I doing something wrong? What am I missing?

Some help please!

I don't think alot of people here use Flourish Phosphours and as such do not know what is in it. I just use the plain flourish for the iron and traces any many use Greg's CSM+B for iron and traces.

What are using for iron and traces now?

Here is a link I found on another fourm.
PlantGeek :: View topic - Flourish Nitrogen and Flourish Phosphorus

I would also suggest you check out Greg Watsons web page. You can get dry ferts much cheaper.

Rick.

Thanks for responding rrguymon. I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone out there !?!?!??!?!

This is my deal. I have used Flourish Iron and Flourish Trace in the past. After many suggestions on this forum, I recently ordered dry ferts from GW. But, as my phosphate levels typically run 1-2 ppm, I opted not to order/dose with KH2PO4. My bad! As Murphy will have it, as soon as I placed my order for dry ferts my most recent phosphate reading was 0.5 ppm. So, looking for a bandaide phosphate fix until I next order dry ferts (I am cheap and do not want to pay the $10 shipping for a $3 item!)

So there you have it, my dilemma.

Good to know about the PTC Ferti-Lator though. Thanks!

How long should we wait when dosing iron and phosphate? Is it ok to dose one in the morning and one before bed?

IF we do get precipitate, how long untill it redissolves? 24 hours?
