Should I half-dose for a while?

Mmmkay. I replanted my 75g yesterday. I think I stuffed it pretty full.
At that time I half-dosed nitrate, potassium and phosphates.

Today I half-dosed with Flourish.

I am half-dosing because I'm a scared little girly-man.

I am scared of overfertilizing as the plants aren't yet estabished. No?
Should I take it easy for a while?

Thank you.

How vast the love that Him inclined,
to bleed and die for thee.~

If it were me, I'd fertilize full strength.

If you are following the EI method, and doing 50% weekly water changes, you can't really go wrong by just dosing the full doses. The water change will remove any excess anyway.

I'm going to go a little against the grain here and say yes, half dose . The reason I say this, is that for me, anytime I do a major pruning, tinker with the lighting, or anything slightly outside of the normal routine, if I continue with my "normal" dosing routine (I do EI,) I'll get some sort of algae taking up residence. It seems like if I do half-dosing for a week or so, that this problem will be minimized. At this point I can tell if there's some sort of a deficiency and therefore need to go ahead and dose (whatever.)

For instance, at the moment, I've got my ferts turned totally off for about a week or so since I took out probably 1/4 of the plant mass last week. In a few days I'll turn them on at half strength, and after that we'll see.

Sláinte!
Cindy
