Help reading NO3 test results

I'm using the AP master test kit. Lets say my liquid is slightly darker than 10 ppm but not as dark at 20 ppm. Is my nitrate 10 ppm or 15 ppm?

Is the result what it's closest to on the card or can it be an inbetween color?

Yes, it can be in between. AP's kit uses 5 ml in their test tube for their Nitrate test. If you have a test tube of similar diameter that can measure accurately 10 ml; you can add the same amount of drops as used in the 5 ml test. Then do the test. Then you multiply your results by two when you use the color chart to get ppm. (In the same manner; 15 ml, 20 ml, etc. test tubes can be used.)

This way of doing the test helps if you have a high Nitrate reading when using AP's test kit. The color card is hard to tell the difference in color of the shades of red in the high concentrations of Nitrate.
