Nitrate problem

I recently got co2 last weekend and so therefore i started dosing my dry ferts(nitrate, phosphate, potassium, and csm+b) . I dose .5 to1 teaspoon of nitrate. I tested my nitrate and my reading was about 30 to 35 ppm. I am doing this every other day. I have a fairly heavy planted tank and I change the water every sunday. Why are my nitrate levels so high? Is this harmful?

100g tank:10 small angelfish, 1 harlequin rasbora, 2 albino cory, 2 clown loach, 1 rubberlip pleco, 1 bristlenose pleco and 1 apisto borellis.
Rena Filstar xp3, 2x32 and 1x96 watts with no co2.

also...I have a kh of 3 and a ph of 6.8(using ph controller)which makes my co2 level 14.3....is that ok?
Im thinking that the co2 level should be higher. Rex says it should be between 20 and 30 ppm. So that means I need to lower my ph on my controller to about 6.6 or 6.7?

Yes, you need to (edit)decrease your pH. I'd aim for 6.6. Also, how much KH2PO4 are you adding? It should be 1/8 tsp or more.

With the light you have you are probably overdosing. Why not try dosing once a week? Same amounts, but once a week.

I would lower the PH a little 6.5, 6.4 is good with a KH of 3, Like Hoppy suggested lower your dosing until you up the lights

It is the amount of light you have which determines how much the plants need to grow as fast as that light allows them to. Any excess over the ferts needed to support that growth rate just accumulates. CO2 is one of the ferts.

Instead of dosing every other day, try dosing once a week, same amount, just fewer doses a week.

Once you get the light above about 2 watts per gallon you can do the regular EI fertilizing schedule - 3 times a week, without worrying about going far overboard in any of the ferts. Of course, then you need the pressurized CO2 working good too. And, wear track shoes so you can catch any algae issues before they get miles ahead of you!
