Water Temperature

I've been keeping my two planted tropical tanks at an average temperature of 24C (75.2F, according to google). Is this to low? One tank contains: Neon Tetras, Dwarf & Honey Gouramis, Peper Corys and Leopard Danios. The other tank contains: Hatchetfish, Black Widows, Ottos, Ruby Clown Cichlids and a Bronze Cory.

Cheers,

Daniel

75 will work, maybe 78 would be better but with that mix of fish I'd say if they are happy then don't mess with it!

I would push it up to 77-80 myself. Your South American fish are certainly going to prefer a slightly warmer temp than what you have now. Does it really matter? Probably not but I think colder water slows down fish metabolism and so they aren't as active. I have always found my fish swim around a lot more in warmer waters.

Barry
