New tank with low KH

So in my new planted tank documented here: New 20 gallon tall

I just took my first KH and GH readings.

KH was <1 since solution turned yellow right away
GH was 3
pH is <6 ( I hesitate to read lower since it was very yellowish)
Nitrate was 10 ppm (I introduced the filter media from an established tank's canister filter)

As stated in the other thread, the substrate is Red Sea Flora Base (which was supposed to buffer the water to 6.5)

So do I have to be concerned. I introduced some otos, tetras and shrimps today. I am just worried about the low pH. Oh yeah, I have a Hagen Co2 kit (ladder and bottle) which has been running for 3 days. Getting 5 - 6 bpm.

Thanks for any insight.

ph may be a little low but its easier to raise than it is to drop sometimes i add a pince of baking soda in my water changes. I doubt its the co2 i have a 12 gallen tank and im running two hagen canisters on one hagen ladder thru a T i get a lot more bubbles than 5-6 per min.

Well, look at it this way, it's easier to make water harder, than it is to make it softer .

Whew, thanks everyone. I'll be adding a bit of baking soda to buffer the pH and KH a bit.
