water hardness

OK so i looked up my water parameters and i found that my pH is from 7.2-8.6 or around 7.9 and it said my water hardness is 23-310(110)mg/L. Can anyone tell me what the water hardness means????And should i look for anything else???

Water hardness is its content of mainly Calcium and Magnesium ions. Your water sounds about perfect.

Other things to look for would be carbonate hardness, aka alkalinity, aka kH, which plays a great role in figuring out CO2 issues.

I am also very confused. I would have no way of interpreting what that means. Is it 23 ppm, 310 ppm, or 110 ppm? Is it something between 23 ppm and 310 ppm? And what exactly is it? Calcium? Magnesium? And are these readings supposed to be in CaCO3 equivalent or not?

It just says (hardness as (CaCO3) mg/L) its a massive chart that has everything in our water.....

These charts usually show the range (measured minimum and maximum) and an average. In this case it is looks like a pretty wide and fluctuating range.
