How to keep low nitrates for reds and still have enough for greens?

Ive searched for this, but I'm sure I'm using the wrong words.
How do you keep low nitrates to brighten reds, and still keep enough to keep the non-reds happy?

Lots of folks around here refer to nitrate as NO3. That's how I found it.
