Up and down pH

I run my CO2 on a timer with my lights it is on for 10hrs a day. I have noticed that it starts off in the morning at 6.9 after the CO2 has been on for 5 to 6hrs
the CO2 is 6.4 and goes back up to 6.9 by the morning when the CO2 is off. Is this too much of a fluctuation?

pH changes from CO2 injection don't affect fish the same way that pH changes due to alkalinity changes affect fish.

Check your conductivity/TDS (total disolved solids) too- at lower TDS your fish can tolerate much wider pH swings than they can when higher levels are present.

I'm not familiar with this. How do you test for it?

FWIW, thats a pretty normal swing due to pH. No problem on the fish over that long of time period. They probably don't even know its happened.
