how to get nutrients in sand bed tank for my plants

Hello all
I am thinking of having sand in the bottom of my tank (swimming pool sand filter sand) but I have been told that it has no nutrients for the plants what would be the best way of getting nutrients in the water.
thank you

You could do a mineralized soil substrate capped with the sand. Other than that, you could put root tabs under the soil. If not, you would need to dose ferts in the water using EI method or PPS.

with just plain sand, you need root tabs. I have used oscamote and jobes fert sticks for a long time now in my play sand and had great success.

Dirt is also a great option, and if your'e not set up yet, and don't plan to have digging fish I would consider it
