I bought some before I started using Estimative Index dosing on my main display tank. It is fine, but it doesn't have any phosphate in it. So, if you want to add extra phosphate you have purchase that separately.
Now I use the PMDD pre-mix with my once weekly water change in my low-tech grow out tank.

ditto. I purchased it before going to EI (purchased individual components at that time from Greg). I am using it with my weekly waterchange.

After talking with Greg, given my light levels, he highly recomended that I use individual componets.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably go individual just to have some control. If I was just using a tank as a farm I'd probably use it.

It is better to dose your macros individually, based on test results. Micros can have iron or boron added to the Plantex (if it does not come with it, I think Greg's now does). Remember that iron will form a percipitate with the phoshate, so adjust your dosing schedule to separate those two.

Ditto ... Always a better solution ... individual ingredients ... they give you the ability to adjust the ratios to meet the unique nutrient requirements of your tank ...

Although I personally use the PMDD Pre-Mix right after major water changes (it works great to "reset" the tank) ... in most cases, the PMDD Pre-Mix is not the best solution in today's high light tanks ...

Thanks,
Greg

I use the PMDD (I have a few YEARS supply!!) Works rather well to be honest. I am still totally unsure if I am dosing correctly (I think I am), but so far everything is doing great. I add 4 teaspoons per 250ml of water, and dose 4ml of this stuff every three days with a 25% water change.
