Seachem Flourish Iron question

OK...odd question, but does this stuff change color over time? I just finished the last of my 250ml bottle that I'd bought maybe 1.5 to 2 yrs ago and it was red...really really deep dark red, but I just opened my brand new bottle at it's a yellowish color (and yes I shook it up well).

Shortly after buying the first bottle I switched to dry EDTA iron dosing for about 6-9 months and then switched back so I don't remember what color it started off.

Hi syzygy9,

Per Seachem it has basically an unlimited shelf life but any of their products with iron in them will discolor over time.

I believe iron becomes red when it absorbs oxygen (oxidation). Basically you have a bottle of rust lol

Seachem handles this question in their FAQs. They say one batch may be one color and another, another color. BUT - they say, it has absolutely no effect on the product.
