ok so this isnt exactly for a tank but i saw that there was enough knowledge about nitrates doing science on how nitrates effect oxygen levels in water and i have no idea how to increase nitrates...i have to start my project tomorrow so i need something quick and easy. umm yeah i heard from the guy at my local petstore that to increase nitrates u can put fish food in with the plants and water...are there any other ideas? thanks

ok well ive been informed that its phosphates not nitrates....

You can use fleet enema that you can buy at most pharmacies to increase phosphate levels. Good luck.

Many additives that lower pH are phosphate based.

Seachem Discus buffer is a very good example of this type of product.

Fleet enema is gonna be teh cheapest source of phosphate most likely. Buy it at any drugstore/pharmacy, like Walgreens.
