Low pH + CO2

In one of my aquariums, the pH has consistently been reading 5.8 before CO2 injection. I am using 100% RODI water buffered with AquaVitro Mineralize to raise the GH to about 5. Because the pH is very low to begin with, i am struggling to get the proper CO2 saturation in this aquarium without lowering it even farther. Do i need to buffer the KH? Should i start using half RODI/half tap water (high GH and KH) instead? I've never had this issue when using RODI before...

You need to raise the KH to get the pH higher with the same concentration of CO2. Ordinary baking soda, sodium bicarbonate, is a good way to raise the KH.

I thought that you needed to raise the KH, but i keep hearing from people to just buffer the GH and leave the KH alone...

Any recommendations on what i should buffer the KH to?
