I'm new to dry ferts and getting all kinds of confused about the information I'm finding out there. I know people say it isn't complicated, and it probably isn't, but apparently my mind likes to make it confusing.
On the aquascapingworld EI fertilization method article, it shows
According to this, approximate values of KH2PO4, K2SO4, and traces are all relatively equal, leaving KNO3 as the largest value.
However, when I use http://calc.petalphile.com/
for dosages, I get (for an 18 US gal tank mixing a solution that will contain 400mL @ 15mL/dose [my dosing container only holds 400mL]):
KNO3 = 22.2g
KH2PO4 = 3.4g
K2SO4 = 30.4g
So, from what I'm gathering from the calculator...KH2PO4, K2SO4, and traces aren't really that close (especially the KH2PO4), and the KNO3 isn't nearly as high relatively as the chart from aquascaping world says it should be.....
Help. Do the calculator values seem correct to you guys? If so then I can proceed with making my batches. I just don't want to make a solution and then have it be grossly incorrect...
Also, any idea why the two sources I posted vary so much?
