Hi guys,
Iam using a canister filter for my 60 galln planted tank and in one of the compartments i use charcoal and the other is sponge,is it ok to use charcoal to use in a canister filter and will it affect my plants? thanx in advance

Hey! Welcome Satty!

The general rule of thumb is not to use carbon in a filter running on a planted aquarium.

The belief is that the carbon will pull the nutrients we add to the water column out of the water column. We use our filters primarily for mechanical filtration and water movement.
