CO2 levels at night vs day

Hey everyone,

Just started turning off my co2 at night. I have a couple quick questions about what this will allow me to do.

-can i basically crank CO2 during the day? Because the plants are creating O2 does it really matter how high the CO2 level is?

-Are O2 levels and CO2 levels not related? In other words, its not the amount of CO2 that is in the water, it is the amount of O2 that is NOT. Is this correct?

Basically I am looking to see if I am safer cranking the CO2 when the lights are on? I hope somebody knows where I am going with this?

Thanks

jB

The quick answer is yes you can. But watch for fish behavior initially. Extremely high CO2 level regardless of O2 level can still be harmful to fish.
