DHG and ferts

I planted some DHG and I want it to grow well. I have gravel with black sand under that. I have DIY Co2 and enough light. I add dry ferts to the water column, the starter package from green leaf aquariums.
Should I add some sort of fertilizer to the substrate as well? If so what?

My hairgrass grew just fine with a little laterite mixed with the bottom gravel back when. It is now doing fine with 10 year old substrate that has quite a bit of mulm in it. Try breaking root tabs up and placing them every couple inches shoved all the way to the bottom of the substrate if you want to enrich the substrate and don't try to get up all the debris when you do water changes, just the surface stuff.
