Odor from Flourish Trace

This is the fourth bottle I've used and the first to have a strong, foul odor upon unsealing the bottle. Is this normal?

Hi cprash,

Seachem Flourish Trace contains various micro-nutrients, several in sulfate form. If the smell you detect is sort of like 'rotten eggs' or 'sewer gas' I suspect what you are smelling is hydrogen sulfide gas.

Makes sense, is this safe to use in the aquarium then?

Hi Calvin,

You should not have a problem, I used to use it all the time.
