Seachem Hypersorb

Hello all! Apologies in advance if this question has been raised before. I did a search and could not not find any answers.
Anyway, I just got a 100g package of Seachem Hypersorb from Amazon. When I got the package, it looked like a very old stock that's been sitting for a while. It was in a flat plastic package and not a box like the purigen that I got a few weeks earlier and seems to be very well dried out.
Will this affect efficacy? I've noticed that the purigen came a bit moist and I think I read somewhere that purigen should not be completely dried out. The Hypersorb seems to be a similar type of resin and I'm wondering if the drying of the resin would affect it the same way. Or, maybe I have the whole "dryness" info wrong?

Thanks for your help with this.
