A quick KH2PO4 question

I have just received my order of what I hope is KH2PO4.

It is labelled "POTASSIUM PHOSPHATE - Phosphate of Potash

Phophorous Pentoxide (P2O5) 52% (P 22.7%)
Solouble in water
Potassium Oxide (K2O) 34% (K 28.2%)"

I e-mailed the supplier and they assure me it is pure KH2PO4. Does it look good to you guys?

I'm no chemist and just wondered - better safe than sorry.

Thanks in advance.

Here's a recent photo of my tank for your interest. I'm getting green spot algae on my Sagittaria platyphylla so I'm hopeful that dosing P will help.

I've read on Chuck's calculator that his calculation assumes PO4 69.8% KH2 30.2%. Now I'm really confused! How does P2O5 relate to PO4?

Can anyone help?

I think fertilizer regulation requires listing the components in the format that are not even actually in the product(P2O5, KO2), that's why the label seem confusing. You got the right stuff.

There are three forms(K3PO4, K2HPO4, KH2PO4), you got the monobasic form KH2PO4 according to percentages

Cool. Any idea my Nutrafin PO4 test kit does not show any reading after testing a 5ml solution; 5g of KH2PO4 powder dissolved in 500ml RO Water? I would of thought it would be off the scale.

My tap water tests positive at 5 ppm so I assume the kit is ok - if not accurate.

No idea. Bought a PO4 kit once, did not work(expired), have not tested PO4 since.
