Dosing Flourish Comp

Hey everyone,

Will be jumping on the dry fert bandwagon soon I know its much more cost-efficient not to mention all around better. But still going through my micros with Flourish Comp. I get careless sometimes and just dump what seems to be a capful into my 40 gallon tank. Is there any harmful effect of it? I have recently combated rhizoclonium algae which is caused by lack of nutrients (Basically siphoned it off the plants and added pressurized CO2) so algae problems are not an issue right now. Any problems with adding more Flourish that necessary?

Thanks

I do not think a slight overdose is too much, perhaps up to double.
If you know you have overdosed one day, perhaps skip the next dose.
If you massively overdose, then I would do a giant water change right away, and add a chelator. It will say 'locks up heavy metals'.

If you have a high CEC substrate that will probably lock up a lot of the minerals for you. Then the minerals will be available to the plants without being in the water column.

I have an inert substrate so I can't do that. Usually I just eyeball what a capful would be and it turns out to be a little more. After having badly eyeballed a couple times, my floaters exploded. Usually its no more than 5mL or so. Never 2 capfuls. Between those two amounts.
