Iron source

This is just a question of curiosity. Has anyone ever used ferrous sulfate heptahydrate (FeSO-7H2O) as their iron source?

By my research it will drop the pH rapidly so I don't suggest using it in a aquarium.

Never noticed Ph droping after adding this stuff.But you must make it stable with EDTA or other chelat form.

adding ascorbic acid in your solution will stabilized this stuff for couple of weeks.
with ascorbic acid and EDTA 1-2 months
