Possible pottasium shortage? Pin holes in plants.

This is my second try at a MTS aquarium. It is a 75 gallon with what I think is medium light and pressurized co2. About 40% water changes every 2-3 weeks.

Ferts I have on hand are the liquid pfertz micro and N along with powder/dry K2SO4.

Each time I would have plants after a 2-3 month period showing pin holes especially in hydo kompact, swords and some crypts.

Dosing has been just the micros and N when a water change is done.

This did not help so people have mentioned it was probably K/K2SO4.

My question is how much should I dose and how often.

Thanks!!

sound like root tabs issue, you need to add root fert for those rooted plants, they don't use much liquid fert, but mostly depend on root based fert.

sounds like K issue to me. If I were you, I would start by dosing per EI and slowly adjust from there. You will not "poison" fish/plants if you dose per EI.

What is your gH? I have had similiar problems and couldnt figure out why. Turns out my gH was about 2. Since raising my gH to about 7 I have seen improvements in my plants.

I'm not sure to be exact. But my water is liquid rock. By ph, high hardness. African cichlid people love it here.
