Question about CSM+b

HI everyone,
I have been dosing the csm+b plus extra iron powder to put my traces and iron into my tank. I am not too convinced that this is putting enough iron in there for my plants to obsorb. Although I do have some green spot algae on plants and glass and heard this was caused by excces iron. Is this true? I am almost out and wanting to purchase just the csm+b and iron powder seprately. How are you all dosing it? How much of iron would I need to put in with the csm+B to get an adequate supply? Thanks!
Pete

I'm dosing CSM+B, adding 0.15mg/l of Fe 3x a week.

Green spot is caused by a lack of phosphates (PO4).

How do you measure the .15mg with the powder? Do you use a scale?
Ahhh so Ill increase me phosphates then. Do you dose the FE with the csm+b mixed or just on the same days in a seprate solution?

The 0.15mg of Fe is the Fe in CSM+B; I don't dose any extra Fe.

I wanted a stock solution for my tank that gave me 0.01mg/l of Fe per 1ml added. So I mixed 5.7g CSM+B into 250ml of water.

Then to add 0.15 mg/l of Fe to my 200l tank, I add 15ml of the mix. I should maybe double the concentration of the next batch but this way at least I need to mix up a fresh batch more frequently.

Many people just add 1tbsp of CSM+B to 250ml of water and then dose using this mix. I think 10ml of this solution gives about 0.2mg/l of Fe in a 200l tank...

I tried mixing 1 tablespoons per 250ml, but not everything dissolved. Then I got nasty fungus. Now I do 1/2 tablespoon per 250ml. I also added 1/2 tablespoon epsom salt, hoping maybe it will help stop the fungus. This way I can go through a bottle quickly.

Do you have very hard water to start with? I cant see how it would be hard to disolve 1T in 250ml of water, I do 1T traces and 1T mag sulfate with no problem I just shake it for a minute and its done, and some others use 2T in 250ml.

Most of it does dissolve, but there were still some chunks when I dosed it. I've never tested my water hardness
