Non Excel solutions?

Hey everybody! It's been around like, forever months or so since I've been active on here- life's been taking control and at the same time has been out of control. But I'm back now...sorta. We'll see what time and life permits!

I'm currently running and planting my 90gl and am trying to make it simple. It looks good and things are going well, but I'm wanting to wall it up with some vals. I will not be running pressurized Co2 and am looking for a synthetic carbon substitute that isn't Excel. Excel is known to melt vals and I know some people don't have issues but I'd rather not risk it...

If anyone can suggest something that would be great!

If you start out with Excel at a low dose, say 1/4 the recommended dose daily, then a week later, go 1/2 dose, then a week later, go full dose 1x daily, you won't have problems with the vals. Don't do the big initial dose, or any large doses after water changes.

I think other liquid carbon substitutes are going to have the same major ingredient as Excel.
