First planted tanks setup

I just set up two cube tanks...a 12x12 and a 10x10 Tank.

I used ADA Amazona soil in both tanks over a lava rock substrate. I have Co2 setup on the 12x12 and both tanks have Finnex 26W 6500K CFL style bulbs on them.

Currently I have a couple of bunches of HC, HairGrass and some baby tears in both tanks that was planted last night and this evening.

The question is do I need to start fertilizerling them yet? They've been set up and running for about 3-4 days now and I need to do my first water change yet..

You should be using fertilizer as soon as you have plants and light. Especially since you have lighting and CO2 running, the fact that you don't have fertilizers will become evident as your plants begin to show signs of deficiency. I don't know why you are doing a water change already though....

amazonia is currently infecting the water with ammonia. wc isn't neccessary at ths time but if u plan on adding fish. keep doing small water changes. its good for the plants and will help the tank reach balance smoothly an efficiently

amazonia is great because its full of nutrients but supplimental water column ferts wont hurt
