Macronutrients

I recently raised my Phosphates and nitrates to appropriate levels but not potassium. Can i raise it with K2SO4?I guess I should estimate the concentration but it would help if anyone could give me a ratio of K:NO3 or K:PO4.I also don,t know if I'm done with the macronutrients, should I also use magnesium?

I use the rarget levels of KNO2 = 5 ppm, PO4 = 1 ppm, K = 20 ppm. So I guess the ratio is 4:1. Don't forget to calculate the K that is in the KNO3. Do you use Chuck Gadd's nutrient calculator?

I've always targetted a level of K=20, and I've been been changing my NO3 and PO4 levels over time, so I dont' have a ratio . Since I don't have a K test kit, I assume the level is close to 0 and just add 15-20ppm on a water change. As was suggested above, I first add KNO3 and then use K2SO4 to dose the rest.

Oh, and magnesium is to raise one of the hardness values (can't recall if it is KH or GH). Since my tap water is kh=7, gh=10+, I don't bother with magnesium supplementation in my tank.

Mg and Ca raise Gh and are not needed if you have a good Gh from your tap water.
