Will Water Quality change if Eco-complete is added on top of old gravel?

Want to check that my fish will be ok if I add eco-complete a cup at a time on top of my old gravel? I want to change the look of my tank and I am adding alot of new plants Tuesday..

My old gravel goes to the black line at the bottom of the tank, so I figured I would save some time and money by added the eco-complete on top..I have a 75gal so if I want another inch above the black line I would need 3 or 4 bags?

Some of the fish were added this week so I do not want to have to move them again..just gently add the eco-complete to the bottom of the tank..

Thanks,
Mary

I haven't had any problems with doing this. I also added cups at a time of eco on top of my existing substrate, but I also made sure to mix it well with my hand after I poured it in.

I believe eco-complete will eventually buffer your ph to 7.0
