Where to buy?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where to buy dry fertilizers in Canada?

Also anyone have a quick link to a dosing method?

I have been using flourish excel and other bottled seachem products, but everyone says go dry but I don't know anyone local that sells dry ferts, and I don't know any sites

Thanks so much

Not sure what can be shipped to Canada but I think kno3 is illegal there.

This link has allot of good info.

I've heard of dozens of people shipping kno3 from aquariumfertlizer.com with no problems. aquariumplants.com has a warehouse inside of canada, as well. Greenleafaquariums doesn't seem to not ship to canada either.

I didn't search too hard but I didn't find many options for local sources.

I order from aquariumfertilizer.com. Only thing is shipping isn't exactly cheap, I think it's $33 for >4 lbs. But just order a couple years supply and it works out not too bad.

Last I checked green leaf aquariums doesn't ship KNO3 to Canada.

EDIT: On what Dempsey said. Apparantly they changed the rules on KNO3 not too long ago, it can be shipped now. Can't remember if it couldn't be bought at all or just not cross-border, but now it's a-ok.

KNO3 is not illegal here (at least not in small quantities). It is illegal to ship it across borders without a swath of permits so you probably cannot order it from the US.

I get mine from a Hydroponics store local to me. Find one and ask the owner they should be able to get it no problem. The one I have been using is produced by DNF or "Dutch Nutrient Formula". They have a "six" pack of dry ferts including Potassium Nitrate, Mono Potassium Phosphate, Potassium Sulfate, Trace elements (very close to CSM+B in formulation), along with magnesium sulfate and calcium Nitrate (which I use rarely, and they do not need to be included in the "Six Pack".

Oh yea - The price is very reasonable. All 6 containers run about a total of $35 for 500grams of each.

get your mgso4 at a pharmacy or grocery store. epsom salt is much cheaper when buying "epsom salt" than "mgso4".
