Are KH and GH readings of 12 too high?

Our water comes from a muni well. We installed a softener in the house due to the hardness. The water I use for the tanks is drawn from the system PRIOR to softening. I am a bit concerned with the high readings but something tells me better high than low?

GH of 12 is fine but KH of 12 is bit high. i hope you dont use the salt or potassium based water softner for your plants.

I draw all water for the tanks ( planted and fish ) from the pipe PRIOR to the water softener. I then treat with prime. I would not even consider using the softened water in my tanks.
