Question Low pH

For the 1st few months of my tank, the ph Controller kept the pH at 6.8 or above, never below.

Recently, the ph drops as low as 6.2 and I never see the pH Controller come on.

I recalibrated it and it was fine. Our tap water tests out about 6.9.

Any reasons why the pH is suddenly so low ?

Thanks.

test your KH in the tank and the tap water. Is it low in either/both? How often/how much do you change water? kh/ph drops slowly with infrequent water changes.

Red face

I have not measured the kH in awhile but it was about 4 when I did.

I generally change the water every week to 10 days, about 20%.

As I said, the pH was fine for a long time, then overnite dropped down.

Thanks for the replies.
