Iron in water column/substrat

Trying to get to the bottom of the stagnation in growth of all my plants I tested the iron in the water column and found pretty close to zero. Since then I have brought it up to .o3 with CSM+B. All other Macros are pretty good.
My guess is that since the year and a half I've had this tank the substrat is depleted of iron as well as other micro nutrients. My question right now is should I also be using some type of root tab to get Iron to the roots? If so what is best.
My substrat is that which is sold by aguariumplants dot com. KIt's a fired clay-like deal.
thanks

I would say yes use a substrate fertilizer. Aquariumplants has there own fertilizer system with pellets that is good IME. I am sure you will get some suggestions for other root fertilizers. You should try and study each one and figure out what you think works best.
