Info on SF Bay Area water - help

I am a recent transplant to San Bruno and I have no idea about the local water conditions. Any help about what I can expect from the water out of the tap would be greatly appriciated.

Contact your water utility. They're supposed to issue a water quality report every 2 years. If you're lucky you can contact one of their treatment chemists/techs and discuss specifics. The tech for ACWD got back to me within 30 minutes when I e-mailed him a question on Fe content in the Fremont water supply.

I found the san bruno water quality report online here
http://sanbruno.ca.gov/city_services...PW_CCR2004.pdf

There are numbers for Total dissolved solids, Alkalinity and Hardness. The numbers are listed in ppm and the averages for these are TDS: 370; Alkalinity(CaCO3): 156; and Hardness(CaCO3): 222. I think I need some schooling becuase I dont know what numbers are important when converting to KH and GH. The PH is high with an average of 7.9. I found conversion calculators but I need help to know what numbers are important for the conversions.
