dialing in the ferts

After a year and a half I've finally accumulated all that I've wished for: 75 gal, pressurized CO2, 100% flourite substrate, and recently purchased ferts. Yesterday I put in $30 worth of stem plants in there. I already had a huge crypt, 3 struggling amazon swords, and some anubis.

Here's what I'm dosing (just started today, however):
KNO3: 1/2 tsp. (3x week)
KH2PO4: 1/2 tsp. (3x week)
K2SO4: 1/4 tsp. (3x week)
Magnesium Sulfate: 2 tsp. (1x week)
Flourish Excel: 1/2 capful (3x week)

I have Plantex CSM+B but haven't learned how to dose yet, so still using teh Flourish.

My known readings are thus:
pH: 7.6 (note: tapwater is also 7.6)
KH: 9

I increased the bpm on my CO2 to try to lower the pH.
Some additional info: Magnum 350 with CO2 run into the intake, Aquaclear 500, large piece of Malaysian driftwood.

Now that I have what I need, I need to know what to do with it so I don't screw it up. Please let me know what other info I can provide to give you a better picture. Thanks.

Boyd

1/2 a tsp of KH2PO4 in 75g is 5.9mg/l of PO4!

Three times a week is giving you almost 18mg/l of PO4 in a week... way too much.

Flourich Excel does not replace CSM. It is basically an alternative to CO2 dosing in that it adds carbon for the plants. You have CO2 so you don't need Excel. You need to dose CSM.

You also need to get more CO2 in there. you have 6.8mg/l of CO2 in the tank and you need to get it up to around 30. Sounds like your injection isn't doing much of anything as the pH of your tank is the same as your tap. It should be getting lowered by the CO2.

Also sounds like you need more plants.

How much light do you have on this tank?

To clear it up, I am not dosing Flourish Excel, it is just Flourish (the trace nutrients, I believe). Also, I am not dosing 1/2 tsp 3x weekly of KH2PO4, I am dosing 1/4 tsp 3x weekly. I got the dosing regimen off this forum, otherwise I don't know what I'm doing.

Lighting is 220w CF.

2 Anacharis (Egeria densa)
2 Diandra (Didiplis diandra)
1 Green Temple (Hygrophilia corymbosa)
2 Hygrophilia (Hygrophila polysperma)
1 Lloydiella, Golden (Lysimachia nummularia)
2 Ludwigia Peruensis (Ludwigia peruensis)
2 Rotala Indica (Rotala indica)
10 Sag, Dwarf Subulata (Sagittaria subulata)
3 pots Dwarf Hairgrass (Eleocharis acicularis)
10 Vals, Corkscrew (Vallisneria americana)
1 Wisteria

I will take readings this morning when the lights come back on to see what the pH is. The CO2 has been on only when the lights are on, but last night I switched it to run 24/7.
